A Musical Discovery

One of those albums that just refuses to age.
I made this discovery at the beginning of last year when I had just started University. The album Shepard's Dog by the infamous Iron & Wine blew me away. The complexities of their rhythms and their sweet flowing melodies are bound to lift you out of any kind of bad mood, or simply see you through a grey day. This guitar work is fantastic and the vocals reminiscent of a hazy summer's day long gone. Definitely an album I'd recommend to anyone. Here's "Boy With A Coin" from the aforementioned album for your enjoyment! The video is pretty fun as well ;)

And now for something completely different
So I'm off to see example tonight, looking forward to hopefully hearing some of his witty older songs, but the band that i want to draw your attention to is fenech-soler. They will be supporting him tonight and I'm more than excited to see them live. Makes me think of a clever twist on pop, with perhaps some slightly more musical motives, either way they've pumped out a few great dance tracks, to wet your appetites, here is the opening track from their album, battlefields.

The Beatles - And I love her
So,
Today I have decided to treat you all to another band that you probably all know and love The Beatles, however, I had only heard this literally the other day, and of course fell slightly in love. If you haven't heard this particular song I'd definitely recommend it.

I also have a feeling there might be a slightly more contemporary act coming your way this evenig so keep posted.
Good evening.

Led Zeppelin - Babe i'm gonna leave you
Now i've been an avid Zeppelin for quite a few years now, as with most amateur guitarists, if found stairway to heaven a massive influence, not only on my music, but my life. I then went on to discover gems like Since i've been loving you and so on. However, this particular song i only found recently, shocked by it's genius and the fact I hadn't heard of it, i was spurred to go find as much amazing music that i had missed out on. So here you go people, one of my most recent inspirations!
To Introduce Myself
Hey everyone!
Well I'm Michael and I've decided it's about time i keep a journal of all the songs i find,
a) So i don't ever forget them (I listen to a LOT of music)
b) To see if anyone find my music taste acceptable :P
I'm in a band, and am just looking for inspiration really. So nice to meet you all!
